Notes on SIP Session 1, IETF 67 reported by David Bryan SIP Action Items - Thursday session, San Diego 2006 Chairs discussion - Certs draft is ready for working group last call. Outbound: - Issue B: Agreed that Rohan will adopt solution 2: only require outbound support on first hop and on registrar. - Bug A: Insert both "rport is needed" and an informative reference to the NAT Considerations draft - Issue C: Limiting the number of flows from a home proxy - defer this. - Issue F: No change now. Will fix later if necessary. - Issue 3G: Rough consensus for option 2. Domain Certs and Connection Reuse - People with heated opinions, please post views to mailing list. Will then try to have a meeting or conference call to discuss further. - The effect of this draft to reduce by one-half the number of connections, at the cost of the additional complexity. Who wants this? Decision: looks like people do not feel extra complexity is worth it. May need to take a different approach to this. Need to confirm this on the list. SIPS Guidelines - Dean's trial balloon - Do away with step 1 - Reduce step 4 to a SHOULD and explain the issues. GRUU - Temporary/Anonymous/Private GRUU: People are comfortable with this, but a lot of people do not have an opinion. - Change in parameter names: General consensus in favor of new names, small but vocal minority opposed, many do not care.
