SIP Steps to Draft Standard - Robert Sparks

Deciding to progress or cycle to proposed again?
- What might go?  S/MIME, stateless proxies, perhaps a few headers
Focus on just 3261 and dependencies or add on SIP events, REFER, 100rel, etc.
Dependencies - TLS, SDP, and others
Implementation Report required

Discussion at the mike about what to do (or not do)...
Discussion about how to deal with TLS issue
What is the benefit of moving to Draft?
Discussion about benefits of removing things not used (e.g. S/MIME)

Robert called for a a show of hands with three options (move to draft, revise and recycle as proposed,
or do nothing)
Most in favor of revise and recycle as proposed

Robert called for a show of hands on whether an implementation interop report
is useful - most agreed.
Robert got volunteers for working on the list on conference call.

Chairs determined that we have decided not to try to move SIP to Draft.

Proposal - use History-Info with new 'target' parameter

Jonathan will remove the mention of deleting other H-I fields in the proposal to
avoid security issues raised by Cullen.

Jonathan will write up the proposal in a draft.


INFO Issues - Eric Burger

Is there a problem (other than DTMF) ?

Problem is lack of negotiation, requires static configuration
Some say it is not problem, others say it is
Most agree we need to do something

Is INFO UUI mechanism needed?

Discussion says yes.

Extend INFO or new method name?

Discussion says we don't need a new name.

Discussion about mechanisms to fix INFO

WG does not have a milestone for fixing INFO
